ABOUT THE FLYNN
The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts is Northern New England’s premier performing arts center. The Flynn offers a wide range of cultural and educational experiences and nurtures the creative development of performing artists. Our facilities include a 1,439-seat proscenium auditorium (Flynn Main Stage), a 180-seat black box cabaret space (Flynn Space), two education studios, a gallery with rotating exhibits of regional artists, and adjoining lobbies.
The Flynn hosts over 200 performances yearly. Regularly scheduled performances include the Flynn season, which features world-class music, Broadway, theater, dance, and family performances on our Main Stage, with additional touring shows added throughout the year and weekday matinees presented through our Student Matinee Series. In addition, we produce and present a variety of projects and performances outside our campus, including the annual Burlington Discover Jazz Festival. The Flynn also provides a performance venue for the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, the Vermont Youth Orchestra, Lyric Theatre, Vermont Stage, and other local arts organizations.
Serves as the director of operations at the Flynn, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all while overseeing and supporting a cohesive team among multiple departments.
Manage the operation of the front of house area before, during, and after the show. Ensure exemplary customer service is being provided by the front of house team, as well as the safety and well-being of all guests.
Sell tickets and provide information about various Flynn events, and many events at regional venues, in person at the box office, by phone, and occasionally at off-site locations.
Working closely with the education programs manager, teaching artists work to create and lead engaging, arts-focused classes and camps for community members of all ages.
Provide professional service that ensures the well-being and safety of patrons and the theater, and conduct security and facility needs to support fellow Flynn staff, during Flynn events.
Maintain and operate a clean and well-organized bar/concessions, serve patrons in a friendly and professional manner, handle credit card sales accurately, and complete nightly settlement reports.
