On the days of Main Stage shows, the Box Office hours extend until a half-hour after curtain time. The Box Office window opens one hour before curtain time for Sunday Main Stage shows and on holidays when there is a performance scheduled. What is the Dress Circle?

At Dress Circle shows, two additional rows of seats are set up in front of row A in the Main Stage theater. These performances will not have an orchestra. It is the decision of the artist and/or promoter whether they want these two extra rows. Any time there is Dress Circle seating available for a performance, it will be noted, along with pricing and other information, on our website.

How can I search for the performance/show I want?

You can type in the name of the artist, the genre, or the presenter in the "Search" bar in the upper right hand part of the homepage. Also, when you scroll down on the home page, you will see a section for "At the Flynn"; if you click, "See All Events," you will be taken to a full listing of shows and events, listed in chronological order. Or, you can click on Calendar, under the Calendar & Tickets in the navigation pane, to view all upcoming shows and events.

I’ve selected my show and entered my section and quantity. How do I place the order?

Click "Purchase." You will be brought to your shopping cart. You may check out from this page or continue shopping. To return to your cart, click the icon at the top right of the page.

Where do I find my seat numbers?

After selecting your show and adding tickets to you cart, once you get to the Shopping Cart page, you will see your seat numbers in the details of the show. Please note that general admission shows do not show seat numbers.

Can I see my seats on a seat map?

For venues with reserved seats, including the Flynn Main Stage, there will be a “View Seating Chart” link in the Shopping Cart.

What if I need special seating?

If our regular theater seats do not meet the needs of someone in your party for any reason, please request accessibility accommodations in the field provided at checkout , or contact the Box Office by phone at 802-863-5966 or visit 153 Main Street, Burlington, for assistance.

What if I want to change my seats or sit in a specific area?

For many events, you will be able to select your seats from a seat map when you add tickets to your Shopping Cart. For events where this option is not available, the web ticketing system will assign you the best available seat(s) in the price level/section you select. If our regular theater seating does not meet the needs of someone in your party for any reason, please request accessibility accommodations in the field provided at checkout. Please note that, with the exception of relocation for accessibility needs, all sales, including seat locations, are final. If you want to sit in a specific area within a section, or have specific seating requests, please call or visit the Flynn Box Office.

Does my two-month/two-year-old child need a ticket?

Yes. Due to local fire codes, every person needs a ticket, regardless of whether or not they will be sitting in a seat or on a lap. The only exception to this is that infants up to 12 months old will be admitted free to Flynn-presented family matinee performances, specifically designated in the season brochure. Other promoters will generally specify their policies regarding children. If there is no specific text with the performance that says children under a certain age are admitted free, you should expect to buy a ticket for all members of your party.

How much are the service fees? What are they for?

The Flynn is a nonprofit organization and we charge fees to help defer the cost of doing business. The online service fee is $3.50 per ticket. This fee allows the Flynn to cover the infrastructure costs for processing web orders. The phone service fee is $3.50 per ticket. This fee covers the costs of staffing and upkeep of the phone system. The phone and online service fees include postage (if applicable). Service fees can be avoided by purchasing tickets in person at our Box Office window at 153 Main Street in Burlington. Taxes and surcharges will still apply.

Do I have to pay service fees if I am going to pick up the tickets on the night of the show, or if I reserve them over the phone and pay at the window?

The $3.50 per ticket phone service fee and the $3.50 per ticket web service fee still apply regardless of how the tickets are delivered. You will pay these fees even if the tickets are held for pickup or if you reserve them over the phone and then come pay for them in person. Remember, you can always avoid these service fees by purchasing tickets in person at our Box Office window at 153 Main Street in Burlington.

What discounts are available?

For most Flynn-presented shows, full-time students (with photo ID) and children under 18 receive $4 off the top two ticket prices. Simply show your student ID when purchasing tickets at the Box Office. Teens (ages 13-19) may purchase day-of-show tickets in person at our Box Office window for $10 for most Flynn-presented performances, subject to availability. The Flynn has also partnered with Saint Michael's College and Champlain College to offer current undergraduates tickets to see any performance that the Flynn presents for $10 (does not apply to Higher Ground events and other rentals at the Flynn). And current UVM students, staff, and faculty can get specially priced tickets to select shows through our partnership with UVM’s Office of the Vice President for Human Resources, Diversity and Multicultural Affairs.

Some promoters offer different discounts for tickets to their shows, and some offer none at all, depending on the performance. But it never hurts to ask if there are any discounted prices for a show. You can inquire by contacting the Flynn Box Office.

Why does the Flynn ask for my address and phone when I purchase tickets?

If you’re paying with a check or credit card, our system requires that we have address and telephone information to protect our customers against fraud. We also are unique in that we will replace lost tickets for Flynn-presented performances; to do that, we need to collect this information so we have a record of the sale. Finally, if there is ever a cancellation or change to a performance, particularly a date or time change, we need to be able to contact you.

What if I want my tickets shipped to a different address?

While checking out on the Flynn site, select mail as your delivery method and click continue. In the next section, you will enter your “Delivery Address.” You may enter a different delivery address here.

When and how should I expect to receive my tickets?

Your tickets will be mailed to you via the U.S. Postal Service within two business days after you place your order, though in cases of a popular sale, it may take up to two weeks. You can also specify that you would like the tickets held and you can pick them up at the venue on the night of the show or any time before then at the Flynn Box Office window at 153 Main Street in Burlington. If you purchase tickets within nine days of the show, then the tickets will automatically be held for you to pick up at the performance venue on the night of the performance. Please remember that an ID will be required when picking up tickets. You also have the option to print your tickets at home. If you select to print at home, the confirmation email you receive after placing your order will have your ticket(s) attached as a printable PDF.

What if I want someone else to pick up my tickets for me?

When you click “Checkout” on the Shopping Cart page, you will see options for the delivery of your tickets. Select “Hold at Box Office” and, in the box below, enter the name of the person who will be picking up the tickets. Remember that an ID is required to pick up tickets.

What if I want someone else to pick up my tickets for me, but my show is not at the Flynn?

You will follow the same procedure at checkout: select “Hold at Box Office” as your delivery method and, in the box below, enter the name of the person who will be picking up the tickets. However, please note that will call tickets for venues other than the Flynn need to be picked up at that venue on the day of the show.

Will you use my phone number, email, or mailing address for direct marketing or sell them to other organizations?

We are required to collect certain information on our website when you order tickets or make a contribution, but we also request additional information so that we can tailor the online experience. You have the option of indicating your interest preferences (jazz, dance, etc.) and we use that information to suggest performances you may be interested in, and to mail you relevant information. You may choose not to submit this information. You may also customize your email and mail preferences to identify how you would like us to communicate with you. The Flynn does not sell or rent names, postal addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses. Read our privacy policy for more information.

Why are there tickets available for a higher price on other websites?

The Flynn does not provide tickets to other sellers, with the exception of occasional partnerships with nonprofit organizations as fundraisers. Tickets purchased from other sources are purchased at your own risk. We urge patrons to purchase tickets through us only. Tickets available on other websites are usually sold by ticket scalpers who charge inflated prices. By purchasing through us, you are assured that the ticket you receive is valid and is being sold to you at face value.

May I resell my ticket if I cannot use it?

You may resell your ticket for the face value of the ticket price. The Flynn Box Office does not condone the secondary sale of tickets for a value exceeding the purchase price and reserves the right not to do business with any individual known to engage in this practice.

If I buy tickets for a “rain or shine” show, can I get a refund in the event of bad weather?

It is always up to the promoter to make the call to cancel the show. However, if a show is billed as “rain or shine,” then as long as the artist is able to perform, the show will go on. It is the Flynn’s policy to not offer exchanges or refunds when a show that is billed as “rain or shine” goes on, so there will be no refunds applicable due to weather.

What is the show cancellation policy in the event of bad weather?

The Flynn is contractually obligated to pay artists and crew for our performances and therefore rarely cancels a performance for weather. If the artist is here, the show will go on. Please visit our website for updates; we immediately post notice of cancellations or postponements on the show ticket page. If a show goes on as scheduled, we are unable to refund tickets. Other promoters may have different policies. Please do not endanger yourself when there is inclement weather; make sure to give yourself plenty of time to travel and park safely.

What time do the doors open to begin seating?

If the performance you are attending is on the Flynn Main Stage, the lobby opens one hour before the start of a performance, and the theater itself opens 30 minutes prior to the show. If the performance is in Flynn Space, the doors open 30 minutes before curtain time. Other venues will usually note the door time on the ticket, or you can inquire with the Box Office at 802-863-5966 (voice/relay calls welcome).

What happens if I am late to the performance?

If the performance you are attending is at the Flynn (either the Main Stage or Flynn Space), you will be seated during a suitable break in the performance, as directed by the artist. If the performance is elsewhere, late seating is at the discretion of the venue.

Can I bring my camera or recording device to the performance?

The Flynn’s policy states that no cameras or recording devices are permitted inside the venue unless specifically permitted by the artist. Please check with the Box Office, as every performance differs on what is allowed and what is not acceptable to bring inside. In most cases, cameras and/or recording devices are not permitted.

Where may I dance when I attend a show at the Flynn's Main Stage?

Due to fire regulations, there is no dancing allowed in the middle aisle, in front of the stage, or anywhere in the balcony. Dancing is allowed on the floor side aisles up to the exit doors and at the back of the hall.

What are the Flynn’s policies during a show?
