The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts is Northern New England’s premiere performing arts center. The Flynn offers a wide range of cultural and educational experiences and nurtures the creative development of performing artists. Our facilities include a 1,411-seat proscenium auditorium (Flynn Main Stage), a 180-seat black box cabaret space (Flynn Space), two education studios, a gallery with rotating exhibits of regional artists, and adjoining lobbies.

The Flynn hosts over 200 performances and over 50 camps and classes annually. Regularly scheduled performances include the Flynn season, which features world-class music, Broadway, theater, dance, and family performances on our Main Stage, with additional touring shows added throughout the year and weekday matinees presented through our Student Matinee Series, in addition to the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival. The Flynn also provides a performance venue for the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, the Vermont Youth Orchestra, Lyric Theatre, and other local arts organizations.

Position Summary

Our Digital Marketing Coordinator executes digital marketing programs that effectively drive new customer acquisition throughout multiple digital channels. The role is responsible for digital channel account production and campaigns through all phases of launch and roll out, including creative conceptualization, trafficking, reporting, analysis, and optimization.

Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities

  • Experience with developing and executing a variety of digital marketing channels (eg: email, social media, digital channels, website and SEM).
  • Coordinate the digital marketing efforts, executing campaigns towards optimization of messaging and sales.
  • Coordinate email marketing efforts.
  • Plan and execute the social media marketing strategy.
  • Webpage Updating.
  • Website Analytic Tracking.
  • Support efforts to optimize for search, ticket sales, and memberships.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance digital program performance, develop new growth opportunities and optimize profitability.
  • Support relationships with strategic partners (eg: Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Amazon and others) in the execution of digital marketing campaigns.
  • Leverage experience with digital media management, display prospecting and re-targeting, paid search, email, referral marketing, as well as web analytics tools and A/B testing.
  • Keyword Research, On-Page Ranking Factors and Link Building experience.
  • Execute other marketing campaigns and programs as needed.
  • Report on KPIs and digital marketing analytics.

Supervision Received

Reports to director of marketing & sales


  • 1-2 years of experience in a related digital marketing role.
  • A strong understanding of Email Marketing, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Display Marketing and/or Referral Marketing and be familiar with a variety of these fields' concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience conducting analysis using web analytics, a/b testing, and campaign management tools / platforms like Google Analytics, Tessitura and/or others.
  • Experience driving customer acquisition and creative strategy
  • Creativity, humor, and kindness
