Puppeteer, Puppeteer, what do you see?

FlynnZone Family Night

About

Parents and kids work together with art educator and local artist Dave Paarlberg-Kvam to create Eric Carle inspired puppets. Workshops can be attended singly or stay for both!

Bring your puppets to the Very Hungry Caterpillar show on October!

Dave Paarlberg-Kvam has been teaching art for 17 years, with the last 3 years spent at Burlington's Sustainability Academy. Along with being the SA art teacher, he is also the Project-Based Learning Coordinator which means students both come to his community art studio to create and make, and he brings hands-on learning into classrooms to connect across disciplines. Dave’s work aims to seamlessly connect the big ideas of Sustainability with the basic elements and principles of art; as well as expose each student to different ways of artmaking and artists who create like them!

Outside of the art studio you can usually find Dave hanging out with his two great kids (1 SA alum and 1 current SA student!), or riding his bike, hiking, making his own art, skiing, reading a good book or playing some of his musical instruments. Follow Dave on Instagram @dpkartwork to see his work with students, and see his professional art practice at @dpkartist

What is FlynnZone Family Nights?

Every third Thursday, join us at FlynnZONE for FREE evenings of hands-on arts experiences designed for the whole family to learn, create, and explore together. Each session features engaging classes or workshops led by local and visiting artists, offering a fun and welcoming space to connect and grow through creativity.
