The Flynn Presents

Movement for Parkinson's Fall Informance

Virtual - December 19 at 4 pm

About

Join instructor Sara McMahon and the talented students of our Movement for Parkinson's class for an interactive end-of-semester presentation! Everyone is welcome to attend this "Informance," which includes a look at some of the techniques that the students regularly use, as well as a performance of a piece they have been working on throughout the fall semester. The dancers have done an amazing job adapting over the last year and a half, getting used to following these classes virtually rather than in person, which is especially challenging for individuals with Parkinson's. Despite this, the dancers have continued to hone their performance and collaboration skills during this time.

This hour-long event will take place over Zoom. Friends, family, and members of the public are invited! The show will begin with a 20-minute class and the audience is invited to participate. Then, students will show a phrase they have recently been working on. The performance will be followed by a Q&A with teaching artists Sara McMahon as well as the members of the Movement for Parkinson's class.

Participation in this Informance is free. Register to attend by clicking the red "REGISTER" button above. We will send out the Zoom link to everyone who has registered via email on the day of the event.

This show also features a wonderful experience of live soundscapes provided by former members of the Burlington Taiko group. In addition to the music they have provided for the regular class sessions, they have also created a soundscape for the presentation of the piece Spare Time, which will premiere on at the December 19 Informance.

Friends, family, and members of the public are invited! Click the red 'REGISTER' button to sign up to attend.  We will send out the Zoom link to everyone who has registered via email on the day of the event.
