Join actor, director, and teaching artist Marisa Valent for a one-week Shakespeare intensive created for teens! We will work together on ensemble work, actor physicality, vocalization and projection, understanding Shakespeare’s worlds, learning how to interpret and perform text, and how acting for Shakespeare differs from other acting techniques. The camp will center on one of Shakespeare's most famous plays: King Lear, and at the end of the week, students will put on an abridged performance of the play for friends and family (virtual or in-person, COVID depending)! Finally, students will leave the camp with a Certificate of Excellence in Shakespeare from the Flynn. For those students who have attended the Shakespeare intensives in the past, this camp is a great way to add on to a strong foundation of knowledge and get another experience performing Shakespeare!
Camp will conclude with a final performance for family and friends, COVID depending.
