About

Are you a dancer developing new work? Drafting Dances is a unique workshop series designed to support the creative process. This three-part series consists of two workshops and culminates in a showcase held in the Flynn Space Theater. The workshops will utilize Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process Format. Dancers will have the opportunity to share works-in-progress with fellow dance makers and receive focused, constructive feedback aimed at refining and developing ideas. The final, third session will provide an opportunity for participants to share their works with an audience in the Flynn Space Blackbox theater. Artists will be responsible for developing work outside of these sessions, arriving in February with a first draft to share, coming back in March with a second draft of the same work, and returning in April with a third draft ready to be shared publicly.

Drafting Dances is a collaborative, feedback-rich experience designed to nurture your creative development from studio to stage. Space is limited to ensure each artist receives ample time and attention, so be sure to reserve your spot early!
