About

Inspired by iconic children’s book Harold and The Purple Crayon, ZOOOM channels the same philosophy: a child who makes sense of their world through art. We follow the main character as she begins a transformational journey with light and discovers that the dark is a magical place. Adventures happen and the audience gets involved to help a lost star find its way home. Using original music, lasers, and projections, ZOOOM is a beautiful and immersive show that explores what dreams are made of. Combining old school whimsy with state-of-the-art technology, ZOOOM is an enchanting story of a child alone in her bedroom, unable to sleep, and curious to understand.

Based in South Australia, Patch Theatre has been making professional theater for 4-10 year old children and their families since 1972. Patch Theatre is an award-winning company that explores the way that children see the world, acknowledging the relevance of their thinking with stories that promote imagination, wonder, and discovery. With a broad range of inspirations, from storybooks to science and beyond, dynamic and innovative light displays are an integral part of their work. They have produced 114 unique, design-rich, inspirational works and performed for millions of children around the world.

Thanks to our generous donors, tickets to all student shows are available at a discounted rate of $10. A limited number of free tickets and transportation subsidies are available for schools where 50 percent or more students are eligible for free and reduced meals.

ZOOOM is utterly delightful.
