About

Forty of the most eminent women+ playwrights in the English language have been commissioned to create ten-minute plays in response to these urgent questions about democracy:

What is the current state of democracy in America?

Should we stay, resist, or leave?

What can history, global context, or futurism offer us in this pivotal moment?

Playwrights include many past winners and finalists of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, as well as Tony Award winners and a Pulitzer Prize recipient.

Plays will be made available in October ahead of midterm elections and published as an anthology.
