Celebrate 30 years of the Vermont Women’s Fund as they welcome Reshma Saujani and Myra Flynn to The Flynn’s stage!
Since Reshma last appeared at a Women’s Fund event, she has published a new book, launched an acclaimed podcast, and inspired millions with her speeches (we especially like the 2023 Smith College one). The evening begins with a performance by Myra Flynn, and returning as emcee is Jane Lindholm, Host & Executive Producer at Vermont Public.
The Vermont Women’s Fund is planning time for guests to catch up with old friends and make new connections–one of the most important aspects of their events. They invite early arrivals before the show and encourage lingering afterward to enjoy light refreshments and the cash bar.
There’s More Before Sept 30
During August and September, the Women’s Fund will host book clubs featuring Reshma’s books. Visit their website to learn more. https://vermontwomensfund.org/news/women-who-read-summer-2025

Reshma Saujani is a leading activist, the founder of Girls Who Code, the founder and CEO of Moms First, and the host of My So-Called Midlife with Lemonada Media. She has spent more than a decade building movements to fight for women and girls’ economic empowerment, working to close the gender gap in the tech sector, and most recently fighting for the structural changes moms need and deserve, including affordable child care and paid leave. She is a New York Times bestselling author of several books, including PAY UP: The Future of Women and Work (And Why It’s Different Than You Think), Brave, Not Perfect, and the Girls Who Code book series.
As a leading voice on women’s empowerment, her 2023 Smith College Commencement speech on imposter syndrome has more than 18 million views, and her influential TED talk, “Teach girls bravery, not perfection,” has more than 54 million views globally. In 2024, she launched My So-Called Midlife, a podcast with Lemonada Media that quickly entered Apple’s Top 10 show chart, reached #1 in Health and Fitness, and was named one of the best new podcasts of the year by TIME magazine. Reshma began her career as an attorney and Democratic organizer. In 2010, she surged onto the political scene as the first Indian American woman to run for U.S. Congress. Reshma lives in New York City with her husband, Nihal, their sons, Shaan and Sai, and their dog Steve.
Myra Flynn is a lyrical storyteller who uses her voice to empower, inspire, and even educate. Her uncategorizable and unique blend of indie/soul/folk/R&B original songs combine soulful vocals with a lyrical delivery that doesn't let one get too comfortable. As the New England Deli magazine puts it, "Her vocal influences have as much in common with Ani DiFranco and Shawn Colvin as they do with Rihanna and Jill Scott." Myra will be joined on stage by Paul Boffa, Caleb Bronze, and Andric Severence for this celebratory performance.
The Vermont Women’s Fund is the first and largest philanthropic resource in the state founded specifically to advance women and girls in Vermont. Founded in 1994, it is a component fund of the Vermont Community Foundation and awards annual grants to nonprofits around the state that serve women+, girls, and gender diverse individuals with programs that promote economic self-sufficiency, career development, and systems change.
The Vermont Community Foundation was established in 1986 as an enduring source of philanthropic support for Vermont communities. A family of more than 1,000 funds, foundations, and supporting organizations, the Foundation makes it easy for the people who care about Vermont to find and fund the causes they love. The Community Foundation and its partners put more than $70 million annually to work in Vermont communities and beyond. The heart of its work is closing the opportunity gap—the divide that leaves too many Vermonters struggling to get ahead, no matter how hard they work. The Community Foundation envisions Vermont at its best—where everyone can build a bright, secure future. Visit vermontcf.org or call 802-388-3355 for more information. Give where your heart lives.
